Singstar Motown Review

SingstarMotown01Looking for a way of bringing back that lazy Sunday at the Big Chill feeling? Sing Star Motown recently launched at the Electricity Showrooms and we were lucky enough to get a copy to review.

On Wednesday 16th September at the Electricity Showrooms in Shoreditch, a hub of musical talent gathered for the PlayStation 3 SingStar Motown launch.

Mercury music prize winner Speech Debelle, Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie, The Stone Roses’ Mani, The Saturday’s Vanessa and Remi Nicole were all in attendance enjoying the music.

Speech Debelle even took to the SingStar Motown microphone. Despite rocketing from obscurity to tabloid fame in the space of a week she still seemed extremely shy and humble as a person. She kept very much to herself inside the party and avoided mixing with the trendy set of East London, preferring to sip a soft drink in the corner with a couple of her friends. She was tentative about approaching the mic at first, however, when she started singing she relaxed, was confident and got all the guests onto the dance floor whilst thanking Marvin Gaye for being her inspiration and refusing to sing anything else but his tracks (although she did put a hip hop twist on the classics, of course!).

Review:

If you are missing the lazy sunshine filled Sunday vibes of The Big Chill Festival Singstar Motown is a great game to help you recreate that funky chilled Sunday feeling. Invite some of your friends over and challenge them to a game. With tracks such as Lionel Richie – My Destiny, The Commodores – Easy and Rick James – Super Freak, you’ll be reliving classic moments such as Roy Ayres at the Big Chill. With voice command to change between the tracks and continue in the game you can be even lazier and forget about any button bashing.

For added fun get a PS Eye and share your performances with your Playstation Network friends.

RRP:£19.99

Recommended for: Friends and families looking for something to entertain them and bring some sunshine back in to the colder days.
