Festivals
So put your hands up in the air if you are a festival addict, or would like to be…
We live for the summer and those long awaited weekends where you pack up your bags, load your car with camping goodies, pick up your mates and head to your chosen festival. There’s nothing like the excitement that builds up in those days before, and the moments before you arrive.
We all spend most of the year planning which festivals we’ll be attending, who is going with us, what we want to take and who’s taking what, where we’ll meet, what bands we want to see and counting down the days until that magic moment arrives.
We’ve been going to festivals since our teens. We’ve seen a variety of music, visited many festival sites, heard numerous stories, met some fantastic people, and intend to continue to do so for the rest of our lives.
This part of the website is totally dedicated to the Great British music festival and all that it entails to camp at a festival. We’ve also added a few other exciting events as well, such as beer festivals and any other events that we believe are worth you attending due to the camping element.
There are many websites out there where you can find out information about festivals. However, this website space is totally dedicated to camping at festivals and ensuring that you get the most out of your festival and experience.
If you are a festival virgin then this is the place you need to visit for advice and guidance….
If you are a festival pro then please share you’re experiences and advice with the festival newbies….
A festival becomes your village for the time that you are there, and you become part of that community we hope that you come to see Perfect Pitch Magazine as part of your own festival community and we look forward to seeing you at as many of them as possible! Happy festivals !!!!!
See our diary for a list for festivals Perfect Pitch Magazine will be visiting.
Glade 2010 cancelled - Big Chill to the rescueThe most refreshing festival on the Dance circuit has cancelled its 2010 event. Glade festival has been forced to close after ten years of running and winning many awards. Many of the festivals fans blame the local police and Local Authorities placing pressure on the event. Last year's event attracted over 15,000 people and playing this year were acts such as: Etienne De Crecy, Jeff Mills, Simian Mobile Disco and Orbital a crying shame that such a line up has been left out in the cold. But thankfully The Big Chill Festival have yet again stepped in to save the day and are offering Glade Festival Goers ‘First-Dibs’ on Big Chill tickets

Festivals

Katrina Larkin, the other half of the Co-Founder Duo of The Big Chill Festival, recently won a Lifetime Achievement award for her dedication to The Big Chill Festival. The Big Chill takes place in Herefordshire in a stunning valley of a site at Eastnor Deer Park. Having spent many years struggling with the elements and financial stress to bring us one of the best festivals available on the scene, Katrina has finally been recognised for the input she has had in to creating what has become the highlight of most peoples festival calendar. When Perfect Pitch magazine heard that she was due to win and after recent news of the sale of Big Chill to Festival Republic we decided to catch up with Katrina to find out her take on the future of festivals and working in the festival industry.
Music writer and broadcaster Chris Merriman joins the Perfect Pitch team with a monthly guide to… whatever is going on in his head, really. This month it’s bands to watch at next years festies….
